Hi all,

Just to say hello, I am a new flagger as I have just joined the forum, but also attended a workshop at Spring Harvest where I flagged for the Lord for the first time.

I have dance and an urge to express my worship to God in movement but never the courage to step out into it!

However, the flags gave me the courage to just worship God in a new way, I couldn't believe how close to God it makes me feel, and the things that I just cannot put into words somehow I'm able to express it with flags and movement.

I think this site forum is a brilliant idea, hopefully we can encourage others to worship God in a new way, by shraring our experiences and advice.

At the moment I am looking to purchase some flags and ribbons, but I am finding it very difficult to decide on the size, I would appreciate if anyone has any advice.

I was invited to join in a service in St Peter's square, courtyard of Sunderland University. Though a beautiful day, it was blowing a fierce wind. Many people came and with flags! One man had made 15' poles with flags and secured them to posts around the square with plastic ties. Another had brought a length of bunting on three poles which people held as they stood. I had taken two flags but the wind was so strong it was all I could do to hold one much less actually use them! So we sang some hymns and had some prayer time. Then the small group who were planning to walk the length of the River Wear, assembled a rustic cross which was going to be carried along the way. The intent of this walk was to raise funds for schools in the Cameroon.

Despite the wind, I did manage to actually do something of a routine once or twice and when they were assembling the cross, I put my two flags together like a cross and held them up.

Great day!
